How to add my own audio files to Apple Music?

I don't have a laptop or iTunes so I'm wondering how I can add a MP3 file to my library? Does anybody know if this is possible?

Well the easiest way really is to drag'em to your iTunes...

You sure you cant just install it on some pc? Other then that... I've no idea.

Is there a song number limit? I think with Google Play you can upload 50,000 songs.

Unfortunately.. iTunes is the only way you can do this. I don't really upload too much music at this point, but it's definitely annoying you can't do it in iOS.

You need access to a true computer (windows or Mac, not Chromebook!) and iTunes in order to add your own files to Apple Music.

I think this is a major limiting point to having an iPad replace a computer, IMHO. And a huge pain point for me.

I left a suggestion on Apple's website. Suggest anyone else interested in this do the same.

You're spot on about this. I keep considering an iPadPro, then remember this limitation.

This is the only thing holding me back from replacing my MacBook with an iPad Pro... Although, they're on the right track with iPadOS. Hoping with the next version they push it even further. iPad needs a full fledged file system, especially with the ability to add files to stock apps and edit metadata. iPadOS definitely has improved this a lot, but it's still way too limited.

Probably for sake of security Apple does not allow third party apps to adding content to personal iCloud libraries.

You can but you have to be jailbroken there is a iOS 12.4 jaibreak out right now so you can use that but it won't work if you're on A12

I appreciate your enthusiasm for sarcasm, but indicating it defeats its purpose.

This is absolutely something you need to do from the desktop, not from iOS, which makes sense since you don't *have* physical files on an iOS device that could be uploaded (unless you put them in Dropbox or something).

From the Desktop? Just enable iCloud Music Library and drag file into your collection. Done.

From iOS? Not possible, nor should it be.

Why shouldn't it be possible?

I have lots of music purchased from Beatport, and an iPad.
